Arturo Villaseñor was born in Michoacán, Mexico, and moved to the United States in fifth grade, an experience that sparked his lifelong passion for language, culture, and education. Before becoming a teacher, he worked in the fields of Tulare County harvesting oranges, lemons, and other crops—an experience that instilled in him the values of hard work, perseverance, and resilience.
Arturo earned his bachelor's degree in Spanish and his teaching credential from California State University, Bakersfield. He is passionate about sharing his love of language and culture with students while helping them build confidence in their communication skills and appreciation for diverse perspectives.
At Blue Oak Academy, Arturo enjoys connecting with students and families from a variety of backgrounds. He is dedicated to helping students celebrate their heritage, develop new skills, and discover the many opportunities that come from learning another language.
Inspired by astronaut José M. Hernández, Arturo believes that determination, perseverance, and a commitment to lifelong learning can help every student achieve their goals.
