Mrs. Weeaks's passion for education was shaped in part by her own children's experience in Montessori school. She was inspired by the love of learning, mutual respect, and calm, peaceful environment she saw there and knew she wanted to cultivate those same qualities in her own classroom.

After beginning her career in a traditional school setting, Mrs. Weeaks began searching for an educational environment that more closely aligned with her philosophy. That search led her to Ruth Dutton, founder of The Academies, and to Sycamore Valley Academy, where she taught fifth and sixth grades.

When Blue Oak Academy opened, Mrs. Weeaks embraced the opportunity to help launch the new school as its kindergarten teacher. She has since made early childhood education a significant part of her career and continues to find tremendous joy in spending her days with young learners.

Mrs. Weeaks is passionate about creating a classroom where children feel safe, respected, and excited to learn. She strives to nurture their natural curiosity, encourage independence, and build a strong foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
